Betta question | |
PJ Big Fish Posts: 492 Kudos: 427 Votes: 326 Registered: 19-Aug-2004 | hey people. The other day I saw two very nice bettas at the LFS and i'm thinking about buying one. There was a white betta and a blue/black betta. I can't decide which one, so what does everyone else think? Well anyway if I buy one I wanna know if it can safely be kept in my planted 25g. I currently have 2 gold barbs, 7 silver tips tetras and a few neons in there. If not I have a crappy 2g it can be kept in. Thanks. Last edited by PJ at 27-Aug-2005 03:03 |

PJ Big Fish Posts: 492 Kudos: 427 Votes: 326 Registered: 19-Aug-2004 | so i shouldn't add it to my 25g? Gold barbs are fine but i do see the point about the silver tips. They can get nippy. mmmm, maybe I can give my silvertips to a friend (because I have a friend who wants tetras ATM) and buy some cardinals. Then add the betta. Does that sound alright? And thanks everyone for all the replies. |

I suggest you 'up' thier school first or give those away too What species of Gold barb? Last edited by dude_dude at 27-Aug-2005 18:48 |

houston Fish Guru You want what when? Posts: 2623 Kudos: 2462 Votes: 337 Registered: 29-Mar-2003 | I've got one of each myselfbut I like the blueish black coloring a whole lotPlattie (the white one) has developed red markings but I still love him And he would love the 25 gallon, but the other fish (barbs especially) would love him so no don't put him in there, he'll be happy in the 2 gallon tank, better than the 1/2 cup of water he's in now heidi "I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom." PJ Big Fish Posts: 492 Kudos: 427 Votes: 326 Registered: 19-Aug-2004 | I already know that it's recommended to keep them in schools. I previously had a few more but they did everything but school. So I realised that they didn't really needed to be kept in large groups so I gave a few away to make room for other fish. I'm not sure what species though. I've decided to put the betta in the 2g anyway. Last edited by PJ at 27-Aug-2005 18:54 |

And gold barbs dont get stressed or stress others the same way tetras or tiger barbs do. I've kept a pair in a tank before for a few months till I was able to hunt down more. ^_^[hr width='40%'] The life, the love, You die to heal. The hope that starts, The broken hearts...
