Would a 5 gallon tank with a small filter and a heater work for a betta and possibly an african dwarf frog?

Perfect...I think you would be better with an airstone for a 5 gal...I think with a filter you would have too much water movement with such a small tank.....

I agree the filter isn't necessary, unless it's some sort of corner or sponge filter.

A lot of people successfully keep a betta and ADF together. That's a nice sized tank for the two.

Sounds like a great setup. The ADF and betta willl probably go well together.

I agree with the whisper Filter idea. You're very lucky to be able to have an ADF........... I don't even know if they're available in Australia.........

ADFs and bettas are a common combination.

I have one ADF and it's quite shy. Never bothers the other fish at all.

I agree with ThisWayOut...I have whisper filter in a 2.5 gallon on the lowest setting possible and it keeps the tank crystal clear and doesnt disturb my betta. He can even make bubble nests, as he does so often.

As some of you already know I am going to get a 10 gallon tank for a betta and 2-3 adf's. I was looking at the whisper filters yesterday and I was wondering which would be better, An internal tank whisper filter or an external whisper filter? I would guess the one that would be best is the one with the least water current/movement. thanks
