Betta territory !....@_@ | |
Mogmog Hobbyist Posts: 74 Kudos: 66 Votes: 2 Registered: 03-Sep-2004 | I have an awesome little petstore betta named Scurvy Jack, and I've got some questions about territory or moodiness or whatever it turns out to be. Anyway, when I first got him, he was housed with two panda cories. They got along just fine-- Sometimes he'd get curious and nose at them, but no problems. Fast-forward, the cories are dead, and due to a very long story I needed another spot to place an Oto. I figured since he'd gotten along so well with the cories, he'd easily deal with the smaller oto. Bam, not just nosing anymore, chasing and harassing and flat out mean. Oto's gone, here's the question. Will Scurvy Jack be this territorial from now on? No more algae eaters or little critters on the bottom? I was thinking he accepted the cories because he was introduced to the tank with them. Any response is welcome. |

Originally in my 29g, I had one male beta (J) alone for about 3 weeks. after that I had split the tank in 2 and another male (Shaggy) on the other side of the divider with some tiger barbs. well J knew something was there and wanted his space back, all 29g of the tank.. Shaggy could have cared less. Well I had problems from the barbs, and ended up losing J, shaggy got his own 5g tank for a bit. attempted to add the remaining barbs and he went nuts. so i'd agree with you. when they claim it, its theirs. |
