hello all,
Can a male betta hang out with zebra danios in a 10g tank?
Or could it go really wrong?

Not a good idea. Zebra danis are nippy fish unless kept in schools of 7+ where their aggression is usually taken out on each other in the form of pecking order making or displays.

Still, even the most content zebra danio most likely can't resist the long, flowing fins of a betta.

Don't do it
Tim

I had a female betta in a 29 gallon with long finned danios. She loved the extra space, but the danios shreaded her anal fin and I had to take her out. Danios can be really nippy. I also, tried a dwarf gourami, and that didn't work either. I gave a paradise fish a try, but it has exactly the opposite effect - the paradise fish begin to stalk the danios! (Paradise fish now in tank of her own.)
Cories work well with danios - have not had any problems there, also, ottos.

Danios are a bit nippy & i wouldn't trust a Betta with them. I don't think it's a good idea.
