He just kept sitting at the bottom of the tank all day like he didn't give a crap anymore. Theres tons of tiny bubble nests all around still. I've noticed a few fry maybe 3-5 total so far. They swim around the top of the water mainly. Is it ok to put in bbs yet? If so how many? |

Once the babies are free-swimming, they no longer require it. Have you started feeding the BS yet? You can attract them with a light source and use a turkey baster to get them out, or you can sieve them through a paper dust mask |

Ogrt48 Fingerling Posts: 39 Kudos: 16 Votes: 0 Registered: 22-Jul-2005 | I just woke up, I have no idea whats going on inside the tank. The bubble nest is about half its reg size and now theres a million single bubbles on top of the water spread throughout the tank. |

You can feed the adult brine shrimp to your adult bettas they should love the way they need to chase them |

Ogrt48 Fingerling Posts: 39 Kudos: 16 Votes: 0 Registered: 22-Jul-2005 | Ah, I went to another petland and this lady new what she was talking about it seemed. She showed me a vial which contains "brine shrimp eggs" it says theyre easy to hatch too Ingredients "100% brine shrimp eggs" net wt 6gm. I hope these are fine, she didn't charge me the $4 for em since the other petland sold me the wrong things. She let me keep my lot of live brine shrimp... I have no idea what i'm gonna do with those o.o |

They have 2 tiny eyes, a little little body with a tiny tail. Very very small. Its all they have around here =' |

Just to be sure (because thats real fantastic service if they have, and pretty uncommon) are the shrimp like a few mm big or like a bouncing dot? they are going to have to be the size of a bouncing dot for the babies to eat them And he will tend to the nest for a few days, spitting the eggs back into it if they fall, and corralling the kiddies for a day or two after they hatch He *may* snack, but we ccan cross that bridge when we come to it |

Ogrt48 Fingerling Posts: 39 Kudos: 16 Votes: 0 Registered: 22-Jul-2005 | Ok, due to my females tank being broken into pieces by an evil kitten we had no choice but to put her into a tank with a male a few days ago. The male and her actually get along great, no nipping, no agressiveness, they act great with each other. Ever since she went in days ago she got verticle stripes on her body but would turn him down everytime he tried to make a move. Well today I walk in my room and see them under the bubble nest wrapped up into each other like a soft taco wrap. wth. She floats to the top into the nest like shes dead for 10 seconds then wakes up and swims around, he acts like he's taking care of stuff in the bubble nest but I never saw eggs come out of her.. That all happened 30 minutes ago, ever since then they've spawned 3 more times repeating it all.. Does she not have eggs or do I just not see them? He keeps going up to the nest and doing something quickly to it and she won't move out from under the nest either. They're both taking care of it but I don't see anything in it.. |

Ogrt48 Fingerling Posts: 39 Kudos: 16 Votes: 0 Registered: 22-Jul-2005 | ah, he keeps swiming up under his nest and sticking his mouth in it like he's sucking stuff in and spitting it back out into the nest or something like that, is this normal? |

Ogrt48 Fingerling Posts: 39 Kudos: 16 Votes: 0 Registered: 22-Jul-2005 | Ok, I gotta go to the pet store for some ADFs from my roommates tank tomorrow. Do normal stores such as Petland normally sell brine shrimp and microworms to feed baby bettas? o.o |

Callatya Moderator The girl's got crabs! Posts: 9662 Kudos: 5261 Registered: 16-Sep-2001 | Oh if he doesn't eat them, they'll hatch in about 24-48 hours. If you want to raise them, get hold of some brine shrimp eggs or microworms or vinegar eels And a tank for the father to go in while you raise them |
