One of my bettas has been looking a bit "bulgy" for about 6 days. When I noticed, I went a day without feeding him and gave him a bit of a cooked pea the next day. I waited another day without feeding, and still no difference. I changed the water (he's in a 1.5 gal unfiltered bowl), but I don't think the water is the problem because I have other bettas living in in identical setups with water treated in the same "batch" with no problems. Anyway, I tried giving him more pea on the 4th day, and I haven't fed him at all in the past two days. Still no difference.

Any advice?

i have never feed any fish peas, and from the last person who posted this topic, a few days ago, they also feed them peas, so i am not sure if one has something to do with the other.

if it isn't drospys, then i would go to the lfs and ask them, but i would feed them frezzed dried blood worms to help with diet problems. but i am not 100% sure. there must be some meds at the lfs for that. good luck, and like in my other post, welcome F.P

Thanks for the welcome :-)

And my lfs is basically non-existant, I have to order supplies and meds and such online...small town existance is tough, hah.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure it's not dropsy, since it's not an all-over bloated look and his scales aren't "pineconed" at all. Pretty much matches up with the pics I've seen of overfed bettas, although he hasn't been overfed lately. I do have some freeze-dried bloodworms around, but I've read that they can cause constipation, have you heard anything about that?
