I was at my LFS the other day and they had these. They were quite a stunning bright orange color with a bit of blue on the back. Has anyone ever heard of them? I'm assuming that they are artificially dyed.

They are very bright orange. I really love the look of them and i'm thinking of getting one for my 29 gallon. Are Sunset Dwarf Gouramis artificially colored? I'm thinking that's what they actually are. Don't know why they're listed as Blue-Backed Sunset Gouramis. I just don't want to buy any artificially colored fish. Does anyone have a pic of a Sunset Dwarf so i may be able to compare them? That would be a big help.

It sounds like a color variation of the dwarf gourami (scientific name Colisa lalia). The stores come up with all sorts of names to cover each variation of this fish, and there are tons of them. I can assure you that they are most probably not dyed fish, either, the colors are naturally bright. Okay, they're technically man-made since breeders create most the different color types. You get the idea.

I don't have any photos to share, but you can search "sunset dwarf gourami" on Google Images and come up with pics.

Hope that sets you up with what you need.
