My Betta, which i've had for about 7-8 months already is finally producing a good-sized bubble nest. I'm tempted to get him a female to breed, but I currently have him in a 1/2 gallon tank and only have one other 5 gallon tank with a balloon molly in it. If i had the space, i'd consider breeding but i don't know what i'd do with so manyh other bettas lingering around
Will the betta continually keep building his bubble nest until he mates? If i don't get a female, should i just not even worry about the nest and just ignore it?

If you don't know what you're with many betta's lingering around you definately don't want to breed your betta. In the past when I've bred betta's we've had upwards of over 100 babies and I've read where people have had close to 600 babies. You don't really have to worry about him building a nest it's just part of his nature, it also gives him something to do. Breeding betta's is quite a process you don't want to do it unless you are prepared to devote a lot of time and care to it.

Bubble nests are a sign that he is feeling good, he likes where he is at, and you are doing all the right things. He doesn't need to mate to be happy.
