i have to go somewhere today for an overnight thing so i cant put my pair together(Bettas), and the male stopped working on his bubble nest. the nest is now falling apart and he wont fix it, and i cant risk putting them together today because i have to go and might not be back till lunchtime tomarrow. What should i do? Please help!

What came first? the chicken or the egg? No really.....

Patience. Patience. You don't need to put them together right now. He will build another bubblenest and if he has trouble finding the motivation I'm sure some people on here can help. It's not like you only have 1 shot at this. Wait until your sure both fish are ready, he has a good bubblenest, and you have time to watch them. Even if that ends up taking a couple more weeks. That way you'll avoid getting your female really beat up or other potential disasters. Breeding fish and raising fry is a several month process not a 1 day event.

ok, i took the female out of the breeding tank for now, and ill put her back when im back, and hopefully the male will build a new bubble nest, or fix the old one. thanks for ur help

Maybe try this. My male betta getsin the mood to build his nest when he is happy.
Whenever I change his tank around or add a new ornament or toy then he builds a new nest and he makes HUGE nests at that. Some people say that when they remove all the old nest, do a partial water change then the male will make a new nest as well.

i put the female back in. im going to put her in the Tank with the male and see how it goes, if she isnt interested, then im going to put her back, and then take out the nest so he can make a new one.
