Especially not in such small quarters! It is possible, in larger and more elaborate setups, to house unusual combinations such as multiple males or mixed sexes. But not in what you have. If you put a divider in your tank it would be ok. Just remember that you need double the water maintenance, though. Plus be sure that neither fish gets exhausted from running back and fourth across the glass admiring each other. |

They dont want nothing to do with eachother unless it means making babies!] 72 gallon bowfront:Tanganyikan Lake set up 75 gallon: A. Should i take the chance with two females? I really dont mind doing frequent waterchanges. Whats Your Opinoin. 10gallon: 8neons 5gallon: 1betta 1oto 2platys |

fishyhelper288 Fish Guru Posts: 2161 Kudos: 1951 Votes: 137 Registered: 29-Feb-2004 | well i realy wouldent recomend it i just got lucky with the bettas in my 29 gallon, i had a bunch of females and 1 male, the male pared off with one female, and all the others but another female were kept in there, but, even though i had secuess with it in a semi larger tank() it doesnt mean every body will, i knew them as individuals, and had the male floating for...like a week or 2 before i released him, him and his mate also tried to breed once but the other fiswere getting beat up, so i moved them to a 5 gallon for a week before re-adding them to the 29 |

mer_maiden Enthusiast Posts: 273 Kudos: 163 Votes: 0 Registered: 03-Sep-2003 | Remember, bettas are territorial fish. It's not just males. Multiple should be provided with plenty of room and hiding places. 3 gallons is really just too small to try a multi-betta setup. (Unless you use a divider as previously suggested). The White Cloud needs open swimming space, though a large tank is not needed. But note that they do like to school so don't get less than the 3 you mentioned. They will be unhappy when not grouped, and we all know that an unhappy fish is a stressed fish = a fish e to get sick and die easily! If you could get (at Least) a 5 gallon for this setup you'd be a bit better off. Last edited by mer_maiden at 01-Jul-2005 10:02 |
