Changing Around My Tank For A Betta | |
ImRandy85 Enthusiast Bleeding Blue Posts: 254 Kudos: 137 Votes: 75 Registered: 19-Dec-2006 | Right now my 10g is setup with 3 platies, 3 kuhli loaches and 1 oto. I'm going to put the platies in my 38 gallon so they have more room. So my plan is to add another oto, 2-3 kuhlis and a betta to the 10g. I didn't see any problem with this setup but I thought I'd post it anyways to see if anyone sees something I'm missing. My real concern is my filter, which is a whisper filter that came in a 10 gallon boxed setup. Do I need to slow down the filter somehow and what would be the best way to do that? |

I have a Whisper 20 on the far right side of my ten gallon (rated for a 20 gallon tank) and when I had a betta in a community setup in there, he was fine. Even with a rather large tail (delta) he had no problems getting around or finding a good place with less current. Since the flow of the Whisper 20 is adjustable, I was able to start him out in the tank with a lower flow and gradually increase it when he didn't show any signs of difficulty. ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |
