Well, I finally got her into her own personal 5g. She'd been housed with a Cherry barb. And it started to look like it was getting crowded. To my horror, when I got her out and acclimated her to the new tank, I saw that she had a cloudy eye. The tank she was in had poor lighting... So, i've been treating it with Jungle Fungus eliminator. It's slowly going away. I don't think I could deal with losing another fish.

She's a crowntail.

i wouldn't class her as a crown tail, only b/c alot of females have the comb extentions, but still lovely.

she is very pretty. makes me feel dreadful about the state of Bailey.

i like the tank too, no gravel is so much easier to keep clean!

Yeah, I have recently converted to no gravel. I don't find it necessary to have gravel in a simple 5g betta tank. Not to mention my betta's love the bare bottom. They use their chins and slide along the bottom. And yes, definitly easier to clean...

I put some medium brown contruction paper underneath it to make sure they don't look at a white bottom.

What kind of algea eater? It's a 5g, with a 50w heater (I have air-conditioning in my room, so I need the extra wattage to keep the tank's temp consistent), and a whisper 10 filter, so there's not that much current. And the plants as you see above. Because I could use an algea eater in a very similar tank with a male betta in it because a I have a brown algea explosion that's going on in that one.

Thanks for the replys!!

I don't know, I think she likes her space...lol.

Anyways, her cloudy eye isn't going away. And I finally, after several of the full treatments of Jungle Fungus Eliminator, and not seeing any improvement I started a new med. I gave her a few days of good clean water then I started the Truple sulfa. It seems after a day the eye is looking better, I still continue the treatment for another day as it says so, but then the cloudy eye comes back full force.

Thinking it was the medication, as I've read that strong medication can make it worse, I tried just fresh water instead after a 4 day treatment of Triple sulfa. And I didn't see any improvement after about 4 days of just plain fresh water. I was hoping that the lack of strong meds in the water would help..but, i guess not..

Is there a better medication for cloudy eyes?

Thanks for the help.

She's acting fine despite the eye. So...That gives me some hope.
