I have a 10 gallon with:
4 platys
2 sparkling gouramis
2 bristle nose catfish
Could I add a betta to this set up? I will have an aquaball eheim filter. (Getting one today as I am getting rid of my aquaclear 150 that sucked up and killed my 3 last guppies.)

Thanks so much!

Gouramis and bettas don't always mix well. You seem to be pretty well stocked on that tank. I wouldn't add a betta to that mix.

You are already overstocked as is. As far as putting Gouramies and Bettas together in general...depends on their individual personalities. I've not had a problem with it, although I've had a problem with some aggressive Dwarf gouramies who went after various fish..including male bettas.
