Have you ever seen a thick lipped gourami? They look sort of like a dwarf gourami, only bigger than that. Normal gourami size, closer to the blue gourami.

Hi,

I've got a pair of dwarf Gourmai in with my tank of assorted livebearers and they are very happy, so happy in fact that tyhe male is finally building a bubble nest!, feed them with plenty of live food and lower the water slighty to encourage breeding, hope this helps

Kate, how many of each fish do you have in there? It sounds like it is pretty crowded, I don't know if you'd want to stuff even more fish in that tank. Otherwise though, the gouramis are compatible with your fish.

And, is it wise to buy fish from Wal-Mart? Unless yours has some decent workers in the fish area, it might be a mistake... I've never gone to a Wal-Mart and thought: "Oh, those fish look so healthy! If only I had the space for some more!"

in this walmart, the tanks are always clean, and if they get a bad batch they dont get them for a month. the tanks have no algae, and i have only seen on some few occations dead fish, but if i do see ead fish, then i wait till the next shipment, but the fish do seem quite healthy, no fungus, parasites, sunkeen bellies, bloated bellies, i think i found a good one and most of their fish have very good fins, their angels are so impressive im almost tempted to get some some time,

oh, and im actually understocked, for all the pairs, only some 3 gupy fry survive per batch, and i just had 2 deliveries this week, and i think, maybe one fry out of them all survived, but the last batch of fry were very weak, and most lyed on the sand or a leaf for a while, i havent seen any today

still seems crowded, but good job finding good fish. i recently got my first dwarf gouramis. two boys, highly colored neon (thAI import), and a sunset orange color.

ok, i did a count in there... i have 4 adult guppies, 10 adult corys, 3 adult zebras, 3 adult female bettas, 1 johney darter, 1 male platty, 5 ottos,... and i guess thats it, it looks so empty, thats why i only want a pair of somthing that likes the current, and i am slowly re-planting it, i just got 2 small bunches of plants, some tall plants for the rear, and some small bushy plants for up front
