I have absolutly fallen in love with red bettas. Especially since it's V-day! I have a beautiful Betta already that seems very relaxed. I wnted to get another tank and get a red betta and I was just curious if anyone has noticed a difference in personalities between colors.

Does the red betta have a difference in personality? This may sound like a stupid question but someone told me that the red is usually fiesty.

Thanks!

Breeding primarily for one trait, ie red color, often produces various externalities. So a specific line of red bettas which was started with a particularly fiesty pair, chosen for their color, may end up being more aggressive because no one bothered to select for placidity. However, red bettas on the whole are no more aggressive than any other color, and this is true of every color and pattern - although not necessarily true for other traits, ie plakats on the whole will be more aggressive than veils because they're A) more likely to be related to wild and fighting stock and B) simply more able to move and do damage.

Plakats are not nessesarly more aggressive, only those who were bred to fight. I have not noticed them being any more aggressive then any long fin.
So bascially it doesn't matter what colour or fin type they are, just depends on thier personallity
