Dwarf Gouarmi Gender? | |
sly Big Fish Posts: 377 Kudos: 251 Votes: 0 Registered: 22-Jun-2004 | I bought 3 Dwarf Sunset Gouramis about 2 weeks ago and I thought I got 1 male with 2 females. I was just watching them a moment ago and noticed that there appears to be 2 males and perhaps 1 female. I know that the male have vibrant colors while the female have dull silvery colors. Knowing the color difference, what are the other physical attributes difference can I use to verfiy my observation? It seems like the "female" under the correct angle to the light also shows some blue-ish strips as well. |

As they mature, the female will have a bit of a rounder belly, and the dorsal fin will be more rounded than the males. Females can have stripes, just not nearly as obvious as the male. With all of the color morphs available, anything is possible! |
