i have one male and one female dwarf gourami in my tank. They are the blood red /sunset type. My Q is do the females live longer than the males. I have had my tank for 3 years and have had no problems (touch wood). The female i have had from the beginning and i am now on my 3 male. Is this because the males have shorter lives or die after they breed or is it just luck of the draw. I feed the live/frozzen food and flakes and do regula water changes. Does any one no why this may be

i dont believe so. if anything in labyrith fish(referring to bettas) males are more hardy as they can breed again after taking care of the young within a week given the right conditions where as eggs and breeding takes alot out of the females

back to DG, i think it is just luck of the draw as you put it.
