Hi juwel,

If you go to "search" on this site & type in "dwarf gourami", many threads will come up discussing them. Even ones on breeding. Maybe they will answer your questions. Have fun!

Good luck!

You'll be able to see little eggs in the nest. Really the only way to care for the fry is to take out all the fish in the tank but the male, then after 4 days take him out aswell. But as you said you have no where to put the fish, I would just let them do their thing and the fry will be eaten after 3-4 days.

Hi there,
eggs will be a golden yellowy colour.
You may not be able to see them in the nest
until they develop a bit. Eggs usually hatch
in about 7 days time.
If you move the nest, the male will probably
give it up and eat the eggs if there are any.
Your only chance would be to remove all other
fish from the tank.
Its likely any eggs have already been eaten,
depending on what you have in the tank, but if you
have loaches or catfish - the eggs are probably a tasty
treat by now or will be soon.

oh k just a few things every one says they take 12 hours to hatch is this true and the tank is 180 litre about 40 US gallons i think. i have neons and danios and glow lights that is all oh and flying fox but he does not do any thing he just sits on his ambius nana all day. what i was going to do was wait till i see small tails in the nest then move it into a bowl with a heater and a air pump. Do u think this will work or is a stupid idea

Well its going to be tricky to scoop the nest out with out losing some fry or just totally distroying it. Remember the male maintains the nest and catchs any falling fry; so if you take the fry out in the nest they will all just sink to the bottom. Also a bowl might be a little to small for 50 or so fry. I would go with a ten gallon.

Probably, to keep a male female pair where you could
remove the female after breeding and then rear the fry
in, you would want 10 gallons, or about 40 litres.

Its possible but you have to be pretty careful, or you can just wait untiul the fry are gone to do the water change.
