Also, males are quite a bit more colorful, with females tending to be more dull. I think you have two males there, but I'm not 100% sure. How large are they? The older and more mature the fish are, the easier it is to sex them. |

Look here for a good comparison: http://www.g-hoener.de/images/04%20Fadenfisch%20Gurami/Colisa_lalia_neon_a.jpg and: http://www.adaniels.com.ar/enciclopedia/Dulce/TROPICAL/colisa_lalia.JPG finally: http://aqua-world.narod.ru/fishes/fish116.jpg Last edited by Toirtis at 19-Nov-2004 22:39 |

The males have much brighter colors, the females *should* never have colors like that. In fact, most fish stores don't even sell the females b/c their colouration is so poor, I can't remember the last time I saw them. You should be careful with those two boys if they're in a small tank together, they will often fight to establish territory if not given enough room. Dwarf gouramis are very peaceful, just not with their own type. HTH Last edited by FerretFanatic at 21-Nov-2004 14:57 -Formerly known as the Ferretfish |
