Dwarf Gouramis setup and compatability | |
Roquen Hobbyist Posts: 141 Kudos: 82 Votes: 0 Registered: 23-Feb-2004 | I'm looking at setting up my 2 foot tank for some Gouramis. How many would be ok and are Cories a compatible catfish for them? Also - was planning on using sand as a substrate.. should this be ok? I'd love any info from anyone who keeps Dwarf Gourami's as this is my first attempt with them! cheers Vanessa |

Don't make a thick la I would get 1 male & 2 females Dwarf Gourami & matbe you can add a school of other fish , apart of the Corydoras aswell. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

"2 foot long" really doesnt mean anything. I would say go with a school of 6-10 corys depending on your gallonage of the tank, and then do 1 male dwarf gourami and several females. I have had issues keeping DG's alive when there is more than 1 male in the tank, despite having a large tank (75G). However, my best luck with these fish is when females are present and only 1 male. So do this: 1 Male DG 3 Female DG's 6-10 Corys 6-8 Neons or Cardinals or Harlequin Rasbora, or Pencilfish, or Lemon tetras, or Dwarf Rainbowfish.
