personally i think you are better with a paradice fish than a DG, but remember when stocking if u are going to go with DG's make sure only to get one, as two will overstock your tank.

Dwarf gouramis leave most fish alone including tetras. Just don't add any other gouramis or labyrinth fish(paradise and bettas) otherwise they could fight. A dwarf gourami is pushing the size of a 10g but I think I'd still go with the dwarf before the paradise. Mine were more active than my dwarf gouramis and far more agressive to other fish in a 10g.

I have 2 dwarf gourami's with my 8 neon's and have no problems. The male DG did give them a little chase when he first entered the tank, but he gave up on that after a couple of days. The neon's remained wary of the pair of them for a bit longer than that, but now neither pays the other the slightest bit of attention.

A Dwarf Gourami & 5 Neons do well together, but don't add more fish in a 10 gal. tank.

A sparkling gourami would be a bit smaller and a better fit.

By the way, never had a problem between my dwarf gourami and my sparkling gourami.

Yes, the gourami should not bother the neons

Good luck.
