I currently have 1 male Betta in a 3 gallon bowfront Eclipse tank and he seems to be as happy as can be. I'd like to get some female Bettas and put them in a matching tank. Would 2 female Bettas in a 3 gallon be overcrowded? I guess my next choice of tank (if I were to go with 2 females) would be a 6 gallon of a similar style and design.

I didn't see the postings started by derek until after I had made mine. I guess some of the same advice offered to him could be applied to my situation!

if these tanks are close to eachother(seeing distance) than your chances for problems goes up.

females will compete for males, and chances are that one of the females will become very aggressive to the other female.

if they are in different places than it should work.

The male tank should be in an opposite corner of the same room from the female tank with no direct line of sight between them.

keep them far apart, or just put some kind of tank back ground and put it on the side of the tanks so that would also block their line of site.

Fish tanks are an expensive addiction
