All was well until last night, when I noticed something very odd about one of my female Bettas... Her eye appeared "cloudy" and upon closer inspection I discovered there is a whitish layer covering one eye....... I immediately removed her from the tank and placed her in a large vase --- treating the water with Melafix.... But after trying to discover what this condition could be - so that in turn, I could treat it appropriately - I couldn't find a thing in my Betta book!!!!!
Does anyone have ANY ideas on what this is? What causes it? And how to treat it?
My female has become a lot less active - and I'm not sure if that is a result of her becoming worse - or just due to the fact that the vase is quite a bit smaller than what she is used to.....
I'd really like to get her well soon, so that she can return to the environment that she prefers.....

To thine own self be true...

I am no expert but I had this problem with a new male Betta I had gotten. It sounds like pop-eye which at the time I had treated with Betta-fix by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals, but have since switched to Betta-max whcih seemd to work quicker but both resolved the problem within a week.Good Luck.I'm sure someone else with a little more experiance will also reply.
