Female and female breed? | |
Jaylene_Grasshopper Hobbyist Posts: 50 Kudos: 61 Votes: 7 Registered: 09-Sep-2004 | The other day, I witnessed my two female Bettas have eggs! I couldn't believe it!!! I then thought it may be a male, since some can have an ovipositor and short fins, but we have a male in the tank with the other female! Why did this happen? I'm confused...... :%) |

Otherwise, sometimes females just release eggs for no good reason other than excitement. Edit from Daniel- Joke inappropriate for the site. Last edited by Daniel at 03-Nov-2004 17:39 |

Sometimes, female fish will 'excite' each other just to get rid of their eggs, if there are no males present. You won't have any fry, because males play a big role in spawning, too. |

She even built her own bubble nest a couple of weeks ago, and was tending to them like she was the male (check out my post and pic in this forum named "you gotta see this " Just for doubtful minds, I have breeded her before so I am SURE shes a female. Interesting fishies that's for sure! Last edited by Jessnick at 03-Nov-2004 21:33 |
