Alot of plants is needed & i would use the 10 gal. tank for 4 females or a 20 gal. tank for 8 females. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

At first they fought so i put a divider in between all of them. I found a great divider for a tank. They are called plastic needle work grids. i got them at a local hobby store, theyre are the easily cutable, they come in many colors, and since they have holes in them the allow water movement. and they only cost 40 to 50 cents (rather than $6 for a "real"divider). MONKEYS ARE COOL, BUT SEA-MONKEYS ARE BETTER. |

I wouldn't suggest that many for a ten gallon. Of course, I have other fish in there, but seriously, understock when it comes to betta girls, unless you happen upon a breeder willing to sell off a bunch of siblings. Even then, I'd be wary of fighting. Also, keep in mind that female bettas are usually bigger than the males. Don't let fin size fool you, every single one of my full grown betta girls outweighs my males. I can show you a full grown female that's HALF the age of my eldest male, and she dwarfs him! (I really should get a picture of that... the two of them going head to head in the same picture... I've got a great divided tank that would work well for that ... hmm...) ~Meow. If you get some nice peacfull girls then it could work out great. Or if you get mean nasty ones you could end up with a tank of dead fish |

I think I might add more because I dont think that my bettas have teritorys they swim where they please and they dont flare at each other. Last edited by fordrocks2009 at 03-Jul-2005 16:42 |
