Gouramis eating? | |
GirlieGirl8519 Fish Master *Malawi Planter* Posts: 1468 Kudos: 1029 Votes: 35 Registered: 25-Mar-2005 | I got two dwarf gouramis yesterday..but I havent seen them eat yet. I fed them last night, this morning, and a few mins ago. They were at the top earlier but I didnt see them eating. I have two danios also and I was afraid they might get to the food first since they are faster, but the gouramis did have a chance to eat. Is something wrong or do they just eat when you're not watching? |

However, since you just bought them, they may still be stressed from the move. I find that my fish never eat on the first day in my tank, and a couple of fish waited a little longer to eat. Dwarf gouramis in particular can be pretty shy when they move to a new tank, so you will have to give them a little while. If you really want to make sure that they eat, you could try offering some live or frozen foods. Frozen bloodworms are really popular with most fish, as are live brine shrimp and tubifex worms. If you've been feeding these guys flakes or pellets, perhaps they just haven't been enticed enough. |

I don't have any frozen or live food at the moment and probably won't be able to get any until the weekend..but I have some dried bloodworms (i guess they're dried) I'm gonna try to give them later..something different than flakes. |

Gourami's are quite good eaters & don't hesitate much to eat. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.deathbydyeing.org/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |
