I don't think there are any straightforward 'rules', so I'd only recommend trying something like that if you have a backup plan in case things don't work out. In a 20g I've successfully kept honey gouramis, sparkling gouramis and a Betta coccina together without problems; in another tank I have a male paradise fish with a snakeskin gourami. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |
