I am planning on dividing a 10 gallon tank for two Bettas. I have heard of people using plastic needlepoint canvas for the divider. But, how about plastic Gutter Guard?

I was thinking of using two layers of the Gutter Guard(for stability) and siliconing them together. Has anyone ever tried this material? Any comments would be great.

I just reckon, if you are separating them, use glass! It is much safer!

Don't know much about gutter guard --- but I've used the plastic canvas -- and considering how little it costs, and is easily found (even in the craft dept @ Wal Mart!)... if the Gutter Guard doesn't work --- try the plastic canvas!

i was actually going to mention that linked post above, a lot of breeders on that forum are now using it.

you need the small holes, the 8mm ones are just big enough for bettas to squeeze through diagonally if they really try (obviously depending on their size/age).

if you strengthen the sides with binder spines, you should only need one layer.

Alright, thanks for the comments, everyone.

I know the plastic canvas would be the first choice for many people. But since I already have the Gutter Guard I figured I'd ask to see what other people thought. As long as I can make it sturdy enough, it should give the same results.
