Once again my attempts at breeding have been put on hold because when I released the female from her glass chimney the male went INSANE and swam through his lovely thick bubblenest. Now it's spread in a thin layer all over the tank, should I remove the female and let him start again? Or should I just let her rough it and spend her time hiding in the foliage until he remakes it? Will the nest be just fine anyway? I refuse to give up!

Remove the female, and let him build his nest up again, a female betta in nature wouldnt have much interest in a male without a nest. She'd move on , and hed have to try again. He'll learn

having no nest is OK, sometimes the males build it while they are mating, but destroying a nest is a sure sign that he's really not in the mood. Stick her back in her hurricane lamp, and recondition for a week or so.

What are your tank stats? temp, ph, etc? Any rain near you lately? how long were they in sight of each other before you released her?

I keep the temperature at 83 degrees farenheit (which is really not the easiest thing to do), the pH reads 7.0, it's be storming around here lately, and he had already had the nest built before I put her in the chimney glass for 5 days. Also he didn't swim into to intentionally destroy it but more to do the "showing off" part of spawning. It was almost as if he didn't notice he was doing it.

Ahhh, hmm, then it is a bit of a toss-up. if he just got a bit over-enthusiastic, it could be OK to leave her, but over-enthusiastic males tend to do some damage.

I'd just pop her back for 12-24 hours to give him a chance to re-build and get his jiggles out, try to save her from all that pent-up energy a bit.
