i've have problems with my one betta but my other one(orca) is happy and healthy in his 3.3 gal i have a female guppy in there with him , and i put my male guppy in there to breed and then take him out, after a while she'll have babies and orca goes crazy eating all the babies there's alot of hiding places for the babies , so he's occupied for a good 2 weeks , then he'll hangout and wait for the next batch!! heehee he's got it made

I think the only real bored one would be you. Bettas really are solitary fish, in a tank that small your betta could not have a female in there. That would require at least 15 gallons and that's if they got along.
Try to get a small mirror and get him to see himself from time to time. This will cause him to flare up and entertain the owner too. If you see bubbles near the surface, then this is a sure sign that the betta is "happy". The male builds a bubble nest when conditions are right and all is well.
Good luck!

A mirror perhaps? a female in a tank ajacent? A live plant? some live food? A cave?

DO NOT add a female to his tank unless you plan to breed, its asking for trouble.

i have some of my bettas lined up in a double row, (16 r like this) in 1 gallon betta containers, they stay active and one of the females also has her breeding stripes on (although she is always flairing at her sister) but they dont seem bored feed once/twice a day and water changes 1 hour after feedings
