Help Please! Are they fighting?? | |
AngelZoo Fish Addict Posts: 771 Kudos: 501 Votes: 1 Registered: 16-Dec-2003 | Ok, I just put a supposidly female dwarf gourami in my tank with my male dwarf, I can't tell if they are fighting or what. They are circling eachother REALLY closely, and kinda pecking at one another lightly, but not nipping. HELP! This is at work, and I'm suppose to be leaving work right now. |

Male gouramis will often 'battle' each other, but usually no injuries occur. Keep a close eye on them, and see if any fins or scales are missing. If so, the fish should be separated. Otherwise, just check on them routinely, and make sure that they are not hurt. I think that they will be okay together, though. |

So I'm assuming she is female from pictures and desc I'm leaving work in a little bit I really hope she is going to be ok. If it does not work out I will return her to the store as I do not have another space for her . |

Yes, the female is Silver in colour & the male is much more colourful. It's very easy to identify them. Just give them some time & hopefully they'll be fine together. :88):88):88) http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |
