	Honey Gouramis changing gender?
YourBestFriend Big Fish Posts: 417 Kudos: 79 Votes: 4 Registered: 27-Apr-2003	my "female" honey gourami has recently been looking like a male, shes becoming overall more reddish and a dark band is forming on "her" belly and anal fin. are honeys able to switch genders? ~Tis my dream to collect the one-eyed fishes...

Male honey gouramis are adept at changing their colors, especially when they want to spawn. Also, if two males are in the same tank, the less dominant male may take on female coloration to avoid being picked on. Anyways, I think that you just have a male that is changing colors. And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."
