I currently have three males and four females. The females are kept in a community tank, the three males are in a divided ten gallon.

From left to right...

Freedom

Truth

Honor

Sorry, none of the pictures are the best. All of them are older pics, but they're already taken and in my photobucket account, so meh.

All my betta boys have been named in my "American Ideals" naming trend. The start of the trend was Liberty, closely followed by Justice. These three are the remains of my once large betta family. Honor is the eldest, followed by Freedom. Truth is relatively new. Freedom is a delta tail, and Honor has an even longer tail now that in the above picture. Truth was a gift from a friend (as he knows I love purple.)

The females are two blue-greens and two whites. The newest white girl has "piebald" markings on the rear part of her body going into her tail. She's tiny, as you can see from comparison with the cherry barb.

My girls are named under a Greek goddess theme. At this time, I don't think any I currently have are named. Too much confusion in my life lately, the only reason I could keep my boys straight for a while there was because I had their tanks labeled when I had them housed individually. I originally started my twenty gallon tank with six of the Muses.

At one point I had 16 male bettas and probably ten females. It gets hard to count the females, as I keep them in a community tank. A couple of my females are crown/combtails. Don't think I have pics of my other girls at the moment, and my tank's not fit for pics right now.

We currently have two.

This is Jack, who lives with some micro rasboras in a 2.5g in my kitchen:

This is my son's no-name-betta; he's in a 5.5g with a trio of glowlight tetras:

erm.

One. Kinda anyway. I have 6 if you count the poor little leftovers from my last spawn.

I have two. They are both veil tails. One has the color of cobalt blue and yellow, the other is the color of a denim blue. I'd say they are about 2.5 - 3 years old. Both are pretty, pretty boys.

The blue & yellow one is aptly named "Cobalt" and the other is "Calder".

I have a flickr album of them:

I currently have one female betta in my 10 gallon QT tank. She is what was labelled as an "apache" female. Meaning she has a creamish color body and red fins. She is very pretty and her name is Sandy. I have had her since last summer.

I have been keeping my eye on this one little female betta that has been at the lfs for a month or so now. I am beginning to feel bad for her. She is small with white/pink and purple on her body and fins. Just might take her home today when I go get my blue ram.

8 years old, I don't know about that? Everywhere I have researched said that the average life span was 3 years and rare instances of bettas living to age 5. Unless he is a miracle betta I tend to have my doubts....
