I breed my betas oh a think it was about 2 weeks ago and the male was stupid and ate all of his eggs. Anyhow I want to try again with the same pair and I was wondering how long I would have to wait?

Thanks for any help and advice on how to make sure the male puts the eggs in the nest instead of eating them.

IMO I'd say 3weeks. Cus they gotta have time to rest after, then build up on eggs and such again

umm. a month is best, but 3 weeks should be good. as for the eatting. males will eat eggs sometimes, b/c they are hungry, or there is something wrong with the eggs. so try again and see if there is a change.

Ya- i would say about a month. Cause you need to give them time to rest, and then a couple weeks to condition them again!!! Good Luck next time

also to add to the last post, during breeding the females can get hurt badly. also they need to time to store fat, and make eggs. with the males most breeders do not feed him while in the breeding tank. he will need time to help from breeding stress and to eat to get ready for the next time u breed them. good luck and hopes that there is nothing wrong with the new set of eggs.

i just tried to breed a pair of bettas for the second time, well the first time i got lost of fry, this time he ate the eggs, it is sort of a hit or miss, maybe th female wasnt quite ready, so the seegs wernt quite mature enough to be fertilized so the fungused, i kinda know that with my pair, i let her sit for way too long and she was too fat for him to get a good wrap but just give them some time when the female starts looking fat, and the masle has had a good period of food, u will know when its time
