	How much will it grow?
Jillieillie Hobbyist Posts: 63 Kudos: 70 Votes: 0 Registered: 20-Jan-2005	I just had a question about my sister's rescued betta...now I just want to know how big it will get? Right now it's actual body is a little less than an inch and his tail really isn't that long. She's wondering how big it will get and how fast they grow. And do the colors change as they get older?

Daniel Banned Posts: 600 Kudos: 524 Votes: 12 Registered: 25-Jul-2002	Okay, here goes. If it is the average petstore betta, the body will get to around 1-1.5 inches. The tail should branch out and become rather wavy... probably another inch or so in diameter. It is possible for the colors to change if a certain gene is present, or if it is kept in poor water.

bettachris Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3875 Kudos: 4173 Votes: 452 Registered: 13-Jun-2004	most bettas get to about 2- 2.5 inches. but some bettas called gaint bettas can grow up to 7 inches. also as color goes, some bettas do change color, but to many of them, as a betta gets older it will change, such as the body will become rounder,and the color might fade.
