2 gallon bowl
1 java fern
1 female betta
1 bridgessi

My only concern is the Java fern, all of my tanks are in the basement and ususally rely on their own lighting (my mom doesnt like the basement light on all day). Do you think it will be fine?

I'll do graffiti,
If you sing to me in French.

The setup you mentioned should work. Java ferns don't need much light.

Yes, I think it sounds like an excellent set up. Is a bridgesii a snail? It may just be my own luck but evertime I put this appple snail I have into my betta tank he ends up not doing anything... Let me know how yours works out. The java fern should do great.

Bridgessi is a species of apple snail that is supposed to not eat plants.

Bridgessi is the smaller of the 2 types of applesnail most commonly seen in petstores and also the one that does not eat plants. Canas love to graze on plants and are usually a bit larger when full grown. They will close up and just sit there or float when first put in new water and when they are content. If you feed them well they have no reason to move around so they may do nothing all day. Mine love shrimp pellets and will eat any leftover fish food from algae discs to frozen krill.
