I've got a couple betta boys that will flare at anything - and that includes flaring at nothing .

Some boys won't flare unless they see another boy or a mirror.

Some of my boys will only flare on rare occassions or not at all. *shrugs*

I've tried mirrors and my Otis doesn't flare - I just thought it was because he was a big softie!

hey kiddo, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't the 2 in the divided 10 gallon flair at each other now and again, especially if they think their neighbor is getting better food than they are

FruitLoop is always flairingI think he's stuck on permanent flair to be honest

Platie doesn't flaircan't make him, even put his tank between 2 other males and he wouldn't he just coward...i take it back he flaired oncewhen i was flipping everyone's tanks around, and he ended up with a double water change in the same dayI think he was ticked at me

Ghingus stays mad at life, as does my cross dresserfor a short finned beta she, uh i mean he flairs a lot

Lucky doesn't flair except when he can't hurd his "children" to Momma feeding

so it really does vary depending on the betta boy

sometimes it takes a few tries, i have a male that acts rely passive at the mirror, till it chalenges it a few times, then it starts trying to attack through the glass, then even after its removed he just sits there, still flairing lol im gunna get great pics of him, but i have another male thatwont flair for a while, he is realy passive, even with 2 males floating, and a female in there with him

I've kept bettas for quite a few years, rarely did I have one that regularly flared.

Been there since fathers day.

Mine didnt flare much.

Have you tried a mirror?

One of mine would flare a bit @the hikari container but got used to that betta rather quick and wouldnt react :%).
