crowntail female at wally world? I went in today and looked through all of hte females and found 3 that I liked the best. THen I picked one of the 3. Her 'tail' is what attracted me. It looks just like the one i posted below but she's red w/blue in her finage...And yes, i'm positive she is a she. and she's getting the vertical stripes already! I noticed at the store she had horizontal stripes but after I got her home (and in the 1 gal that I had my male in previously) she developed the vertical ones (her tank is set up right next to the 5 gal my male is in and they found each other VERY quickly). This is good right? LOL. and my male is flaring at her like crazy! hehehehehehe I sure hope this goes well! This is my first attempt at breeding egglayers! well, thanks for any input etc.....

Good find! Wal Mart is not generally known - at least in this area and from other threads on this site - to carry Crowntails.... That's what makes finding the "special ones" so rewarding!!!! I realize that your new aquisition is not the one pictured.... Was just wondering, is that BEAUTIFUL female in the picture yours as well? I have a 20 gal tank dedicated to ONLY female Bettas - and thoroughly enjoy ALL my girls, with their different colors and personalities!

Wow... she's gorgeous. Definitely looks like a crowntail to me. *steals* Mine? Mine! Seriously, I don't need anymore girls, but she's just so pretty!

That sounds like a lovely tank. I wish I had kept my twenty gallon all betta girls. Not that I don't love the cories and ottos and black neons, but I just adore my girls... wish I had room to change things about and just have the girls together.

Yes, CT females are becoming far more common, so i'd say its a good bet that is what you have
