I have a standard Betta Tank. It's fairly roomie but I'm concerned about the temperature of the water. I have it under my light and he seems to stay in that corner. I have another 5 g. with other fish in it with a heater.

Any suggestions?

Might you have a thermometer? This would be able to tell you if your water temperature is in a healthy range for your betta. Most bettas are okay with no heater but it kinda depends on where you live and what the room temperature is. The temperature range for bettas is around 72 - 84 IMO.

Edit: P.S.

I'm not sure what you consider a "standard Betta tank".......

I have several 2.5 gal Minibow tanks housing my male Bettas, and was pleased to discover a Jr Heater at Wal Mart... This heater seems to work quite well for this tank size, and keeps my boys quite healthy and active!

I happen to live in a colder climate during the winter months (Ohio) ... and when the winter weather began, I'd noticed quite a change in my boys... They seemed to be quite lethargic -- not swimming around as much, not flaring, just kind of "there".... Upon finding these heaters -- all of that changed almost over night!

So if your tank is at least 2.5 gals, I would heartily recommend these heaters to liven things up!

To thine own self be true...

i am in Ny and it's cold but as long as ur betta isn't from the wild there shouldn't be a problem. but as u did a heater is fine.
