Just can't help myself..... Gotta show you these pics! | |
dreamweaver8891 Big Fish Posts: 320 Kudos: 533 Votes: 79 Registered: 25-Apr-2004 | I'm sure all of you will be happy to know that these pictures are NOT ones I've taken... But they're great shots that my friend, Paul (BiloxiBettas.com) sent to me -- and which I have his written permission to share with you... I don't know how many of you are like me.... Just hobbyists, not breeders - yet quite interested when the opportunities arise to show you where your fish have come from.... or even just enjoy pictures of beautiful fish.... When Paul began sending pictures to me, I just couldn't help but save them --- Although I've never purchased one of his "show quality Bettas", I find the ones I've purchased are QUITE outstanding... Yet still, I open the file up frequently, just to look... and admittedly, anticipate some purchasing... After all, what kind of Betta lover would I be not to include that?!? Anyway, here are some of his pics of his most recent spawnings.... ENJOY!!!!! dreamweaver8891 attached this image: To thine own self be true... |

dreamweaver8891 Big Fish Posts: 320 Kudos: 533 Votes: 79 Registered: 25-Apr-2004 | Nope victimaziOtion! The first one is a full fledged Betta! That's all Paul breeds at the present time -- although through emails, I've learned that over the years he used to keep livebearers and Angels..... (He's quite an interesting person.... I truly appreciate wantmoretanks for providing this website info --- because now, not only do I have an excellent resource for purchasing, Paul is also very willing to share his wealth of knowledge in Bettas... And frankly, through emails and so the exchange of information -- I've kind of gotten to know him, and consider him a good friend...) fishyhelper288 in jest, asked how much Paul sold his Betta beauties for.... And though you were just kidding, you wouldn't believe the prices! VERY VERY low compared to the online prices I've seen! Paul offers show quality, a little under show quality and he even provides fish from what he calls a "scratch and dent" tank at exceptionally small prices --- meaning their finnage has a few "nicks"... But since some of my boys that I've purchased from Paul have come from the "scratch and dent tank" -- I can tell you that they haven't been that badly damaged AND they "recover" QUITE nicely! Actual prices? The last time I purchased I received 6 males, some from the "Scratch & Dent" some not.... Total price including shipping -- $40.00!!!!!!! Since I purchased 6 - there wasn't any room for free fish --- but the ones I've received prior have been lovely looking females! I realize that I'm beginning to sound like a full blown ad for BiloxiBettas.com --- but that truly isn't my intention... Just trying to provide some worthwhile info to others, because to be blunt, I am in the debt of wantmoretanks for suggesting this web site in the first place! Prior to finding out about this site, I'd paid out the nose in my online Betta purchasing!!! I've recently come across another fine seller, ColoradoCrowntails.com .... (Paul isn't really into Crowntails - but I am, and wanted the variety)... Can't really speak of quality at this point, as my Bettas aren't even being shipped until tomorrow --- however, I can say that if the quality matches the friendliness of Sarah, they will be AMAZING! Won a trio (1 DR Turquoise Male; 1 Copper Female; 1 Turquoise Female) on Aquabid, and then by visiting her site and emails, arranged for an additional purchase of 1 Pastel Female and 1 Blue/Turquoise Female. She recently updated her web site, and I must admit - if all goes as I anticipate with my recent purchase, I've got my eye on getting one of her BEAUTIFUL Copper males when they become available! Another avenue for purchasing is Ebay... Yep! That's what I said, Ebay! I recently purchased a couple of Crowntail Males and a couple Crowntail Females from "emiad"... taking advantage once again of reduced shipping costs.... "Joker" and "Jester" were kind of on the small side as were the females - but I figure this is probably due to their youth... All arrived healthy and very active! Was quite pleased! (One strange aspect though involves the multiple shipping costs -- whereas all the other online purchases I've made allow for up to 6 fish, emiad only allows for up to 2....????....) YES! I KNOW I'VE BEEN QUITE LENGTHY! But I'm hoping this information will help someone out there be able to afford the Bettas they desire.... just as wantmoretanks helped me! To thine own self be true... |
