Except I would JUST go with the killies, even though I am a betta girl at heart!

Go with the killies and breed them.

Are these for two separate tanks? If you are planning on breeding both, I would use two tanks. Both are awesome looking fish.

How many tanks do you have available? If you have enough to house both, then I'd jump at it. I've been trying to get wild type bettas for a while now, but those killies are just striking! I wouldn't be able to decide, so I'd wind up with both, assuming I had the space to house them both.

I don't know! I love them both. This is one of those time when I would say..."I'll take two of each please"

My LFS got some new fish that are good for small tanks, but as usual I am having a hard time making up my mind deciding what to put in the smaller tanks that I already have. I have wanted to try both wild type bettas and killifishes for a while, and the lfs has both in now (yes I know, this is the betta forum but I thought the poll would be best here). I already have 3 Betta splendens but I have also been thinking about getting a few more. based on the space that I have to house these new babies, these are my options and pictures of the Betta smaragdina and Aphyosemion gardneri:

Well, killis are just inherently very cool, so I think they should be in.

As for bettas, I'm not a B. splendens fan, so I think you should get the trio of B. smaragdina. Some of the less frequently kept betta species are some of the coolest.

Skip the splendens-- they're just not that impressive since it seems liek everyone's owned one. Smaragdina, definitely, and if killies are your thing, gardneri too.

You are all as undecided as I am!

I am leaning toward the trio and pair as well, and plan to breed both as the offspring will be fairly easy to sell.

Pair and trio i think.

May as well get them while they are available
