Lace gouramis | |
labrakitty Fish Addict Posts: 740 Kudos: 435 Votes: 9 Registered: 12-Nov-2004 | Do lace gouramis do well in pairs? I heard somewhere that males can kill the females, so I was thinking of 2 females. What types of plants and things do they like? What are their favourite types of live and frozen food? Thankyou! Labrakitty |

If so then a male and a female pair can be kept together. Give them each room, plenty of plants and preferably two females to one male ratio, but they are so small and timid I don't think this is extremely important if they are kept in a large enough tank, saw 10 to 15 gallons. |

They are usually okay to keep as male/female pairs, though two females would be best. Floating plants are appreciated, since this fish spends most of its time at the water's surface. Clumps of plants around the back and sides of the tank serve as hiding places, and caves are sometimes utilized. They will eat flake foods, but most live and frozen foods make great treats. Bloodworms are hungrily devoured, and brine shrimp are happily eaten as well. Pretty much anything you feed them, they will eat. |
