Ooh, get the 10! They're usually cheaper than a 5 gallon tank, and supplies are cheap, too. 10 gallons gives you much more space, and they're not to heavy to keep on a good dresser or other convenient place. I'd try:

* bettas (1 male, 2 females) - hang on to that 2 gallon if you already have it to move out a female or the male if things get snippy.

* sparkling/croaking gouramis - again 1 male, 2 females.

* Honey gouramis (usually more peaceful than dwarf gouramis) - again 1 male, 2 females.

That's about all I can think of. Dwarf gouramis may be OK, but the males can be little buggers sometimes. Day's Paradisefish would work as well, but they're hard to find, and you don't want to get regular paradisefish instead which need more space than a 20 gallon for a pair.

I wouldn't do a trio of bettas in a 10g. You may be able to do a male and a female depending on the temperment of the male. I think gourmis would be your best bet

I think Honey Gourmis would be the most suitable, sparkalig gourmis or perhaps dwarf gourmis may work. A pair of pearl gourmis or blue gourmis may also work.

I wouldn't do pearl or blue gouramis in anything less than a 20.

Honey's would be ideal and so would croaking/sparking - any of these three kinds of gouramis would be perfect.

again you must get a ten gallon at least for a breeding tank, since this isn't going to happen and it is a "changed" question i would say honey dwarf gouramies, in a 10 gallon.

1 male and 1 female.

blue and lerri gouramies are on the side of the larger gouramies and a 10 gallon isn't enough room to live, let alone breeding.

a trio of bettas i never going to work, as the females will compete for breeding rights, which can cause major problems, so never go with a trio of bettas.

I have been doing it for 1 year now. I must have a magic touch

Well not really...for the most part livebearers are easy to breed which leads people to believe that all fish are that way. A common joke is that a puddle of water is all that's necessary to breed guppies...

Anyhow, for a 10g you could try dwarf or sparkling gouramis.

Most people get into breeding because they like a particular type of fish. Now that you know what space you can work with why don't you take your time to look thru profiles, magazines, etc and see what fish interest you?

You say no Trios does that mean a pair will work in a 10g to breed? If so, Can anyone give me a brief explanation on how to do this? Thanks.

EDIT: Ughh... I was just researching them and i need to spererate the Male and Females. I dont know what to get now.

Paradise will occasionally work but I always had to keep my males and females in tanks or outside tubs of 50-60g or the male would tear the female up. Usually it's not a good idea. Same with bettas and some other gouramis.

Sparkling or croaking gouramis would work very well in a 10g and even in a 5g but if using a 5g do tons of research on determining gender. If you get 2 males and 1female instead of 1 male and 2females you probably won't get any fry and gender is very hard to figure out when dealing with sparkling gouramis. They seem to best with multiple females for competition or they just run from the male. 2 males in a 5g or more than 2males in a 10g with multiple females around will tear up each others tails. In a 10g I would keep 4-5 sparkling gouramis together. Sparkling gouramis also aren't the easiest thing to breed. It took me many tries to get things just to their liking and having soft water seems to be a must for triggering spawning. The tank also needs to go through seasonal changes with lowering water levels and harder water, then flooding it with cooler distilled water before turning the temp up to 85F. I decided the effort was too great and put them all back in my community tank. Croaking gouramis are slightly easier to breed but need much the same requirements.

Dwarf gouramis would probably work in a 10g. Some males can be pretty agressive but if you planted one side heavily with either fake or real plants the female will have a place to hide. It can be done with less effort than some of the other choices so long as you didn't get an over agressive male. Honey gouramis would also be a good choice but I don't know how hard they are to breed since I haven't tried it.
