Well anyone that has read my thread concerning the death of 2 of my female Bettas will know were I am coming from. I am in the process of trying to scale down just a little bit and am wary of giving them to my LFS for fear they will eventually die there. I am looking for someone to adopt 2 of my male Bettas. Whether it be 2 people taking one each or 1 taking both. I know that if someone on this website is interested, they will both recieve the best possible care. I am not sure of the age of either. Gweedo is a opaque color, and quite a character. I have had him since Sept. Muzz is a golden and bluish tint color, and I have had him for since Aug. Anyone interested in adopting either one let me know and I will pay for the shipping to get them to you (As long as your in the U.S. )I have never shipped a fish before either so any help on that subject would be appreciated too. I figure a Betta is probably one of the easiest fish to ship.

This is Gweedo

I'd be more than happy to help you out and give Gweedo a new home. Just let me know what to do and I'm ready. As far as shipping bettas, your gonna need a heat pack. You can probably find them at your local sporting good store the ones you break and shake. Another thing is bettas are labryinth (sp) fish so the fish bag they are in should be filled with pure O2 so they can breathe from the surface.

I will take them both or either one if you are willing to ship to Canada.

Ok so it looks like pond is getting Gweedo and trystan is getting Muzz. Thank you both so much! So I guess the next step is finding out what the best way to ship a Betta is. There was a thread concerning that but I can't find it. I figure it can't be that expensive to ship them. A heat pack is a good idea pond, but i'm sure were missing something. Any help is appreciated.

Well here's what I know about shipping fish (correct me if I'm wrong)

1) Fast them for 2-3 days before the shipping date
2) Make sure the box is completley dark, light is scary
3) Fill the bag with enough water to cover the fish but not excess
4) Put as much O2 in as possible
5) Tightly tie the bag and place that bag in another to prevent leaking
6) If possible use a styrafoam lined box to prevent temperature changes
7) Use a heat pack in cold weathers
8) Send on mondays or tuesdays to prevent the fish from getting stuck in the post office over the weekend

Oh Darn. I really wanted Gweedo. Casper needs someone on the other side of his tank...

Guess I'm too late.

Consider taking him to the lfs in the bag to get the bag sealed with the o2 in it, then pack him in the insulated box. Maybe they have containers.

What state are you in? Is there anyone close enough to take them if they were to drive to avoid shipping, or meet you half way? Just a thought.
