khai Small Fry Posts: 14 Kudos: 9 Votes: 9 Registered: 18-Feb-2007 | I have 2 dwarf gourami, 5 yellow barb, 5 tiger barb in 120L tank. Anybody here know how to determine which one is male or female in dwarf gourami? is it the intense coloring? |

It will be very obvious if one is a female, it will look drastically different. Just google "female dwarf gourami" to see pics. But as So_Very_Sneaky said put dwarf gourami female then male on google images a see if your fish look like the pics |

Two Tanks Big Fish Posts: 449 Kudos: 328 Votes: 13 Registered: 02-Jun-2003 | I don't recomend having dwarf gouramis with tiger barbs. Tiger barbs are nasty little fin nippers that will go after your slow moving gouramis. It is rare to find female dwarfs, so both of yours are mostly male. Males don't always get along that well with one another, sort of like male bettas. Your tank is big enough, at least, for the fish to hide from one another, but still - tiger barbs and gouramis and not such a good idea. |
