What would be the minimum tank size for a female betta. I was thinking of getting my first female but was wundering what would be the bare minimum for a female betta. And ideas/suggestion would be greatly apreciated.

It would be the same as for a male betta. I wouldn't keep one in less than a 2 gallon tank.

Nope, care really isn't very different. The only major difference between betta genders (that I can think of) is that females are *usually* more peaceful, and can be kept with a wider variety of fish.

Minimum size would be a gallon, but the largrer the tank the better IMO.

ok thanks guys all i have to do is go the the local fish store and pic on up. Or I can wait for my 6gallon to clear up could i keep to in there??

It is generally advisable to keep either one alone, or enough together to spread out agression, and to allow the establishment of a pecking order.

Hmm mabe ill divide the tank and put a male and a female betta seperate or mabe 2males or 2females seperate. Right now the tank is occupied and it wont be free for a little bit so im try to discide what to put in there.

A 20 gal long is a bit excessive for just one female, not that she wouldn't appreciate it.
