It was all cycled and set up so I just popped him in and he's been doing very well. Now, in a couple of months I'll be moving into my first actual house (yay me) and will be moving both the ten and the 29'community tank. Here's my question. I also have an empty five gallon tank. It would be easier to move that into the house, set it up and get it running for a day b4 moving him in, but would he be happy in the smaller tank? I've been toying with the idea of moving him into it anyways but I think the lighting is too bright for him. The new house is only about five minutes away from here, but I know moving the tanks will be a major chore. I'm just hoping I can get it without any major catastrophes. So what do ya'll think. Move him into the five? or just move the whole thing? Doing the 29 will be an event regardless. I plan to remove all the fish into an insulated container, drain most of the water (retaining about half of it) and make a mad rush to the new house to set it all up and get things running. Then once the tanks have cleared up I plan to re-introduce the fishies. There is a lot of gravel in the big tank and I've been looking to remove about half of it, would this be a good time or maybe just too much at once for the guys? |

Then why not move the 10 gallon as well, and set it up, and maybe use it to temporarily house some of the 29's fish, while you are resetting the 29 up? I've done this myself, the moving a 29...it's not fun, but it's a lot easier than it could be Either way the idea of the ice chest to house the fish in temporarily works wonderful Run to walmart and in the sporting/fishing section get yourself a bubble box and 2D batteries, it will give you plenty of time to get things set up and will provide the oxygen you need while the icechest keeps the temp fairly constant Removing the gravel, now or then, it's really your choice, if it were me I'd do it then, but I'm lazy and wouldn't want to begin now:%) Let us know when the time comes closer I have a posting somewhere here on easily moving fish tanks, and i can copy or link to it when you're ready...for now though let the betta have the 10 gallon, he'll love you for it heidi "I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom."
