My brother got a betta that he got 4 months ago. I rescued the poor thing and put it into my empty 20g. He rarely fed it and almost never did water changes. Even with me yelling at him. I couldn't of took care of before with all my tanks. But now I took it from him and Im going to nurse it back to health. He's very cool looking and has good personality. He's very skinny though. What can I do to fatten him up quick. I've started the weekly water changes already and he's already more active. Im feeding him some tropical/spirulina flakes because thats the best I have right now for bettas. Please help.

Just keep feeding him what he'll eat without wasting 2 times a day...try some frozen blood worms, got any 6 legged creatures scurring around, that are small? The occassional ant thrown into my tank is devoured fast...feed him and love him, he'll get back to where he should be soon...

Thanks for saving the little guy...I'm sure he loves the 20 gallons, Lucky sure does love his 125:%)

Nice going on the rescue and it sounds like he's in good hands now. Just keep up the daily feeding regimens and the weekly water changes and he'll be in prime shape in no time. It's always surprising to me how fish can be totally neglected and still recover in a very short time.
