I got my second betta today (or my brother got his first, depends on how you look at it )

He pretty small and he has a black body with dark blue fins. The coolest thing about him is that his fins have enlongated rays. The fins look like webs. Right now, he's sitting in a 1 gallon glass bowl, enjoying a meal of frozen brineshrimp. Matt decided to name him Spike.

Pretty, sounds like it is either a combtail or a crowntail. /:'

Could you post a picture of a crowntail. I'm almost sure that that's what it is.

Here's a site with some nice pics of the different tail types: [link=http://www.topbettas.com/info_tail_types.htm]http://www.topbettas.com/info_tail_types.htm" style="COLOR: #9900FF[/link]

They don't show combtail, but here's a pic of my mom's betta, Prism, who is a comb...

Basically, crowntails are extended version of combtails... the webbing recedes more, and the rays are more ounced.[/font]

~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~

Kitten, Prism looks EXACTLY like my first betta. He just celebrated his 2nd birthday. I'm not sure if my fish is a combtail, I used to think so, but he's so old he rarely spreads his fins wide enough for me to see.

Oh and Spike is definitely a crowntail. His fins are almost as ounced as the one on that website. It's funny because I told my brother at first not to buy him because he is blind in one eye. But then he flared his fins and my brother fell in love with him.
