So I AM expirenced with bettas - My old one recently died of Dropsy. I got a new one today, a blue/green/black crowntail, and I put him in my tank along with 4 WCMM. The tank is a 3 gallon, and is an Eclispe system 3. He seems to hate the flourscent light, and lingers towards the back, but comes to the front of the tank every so often. He also seems curious in the WCMM. Is this normal behavior, is he adjusting to his new surroundings, or is something wrong?

I also wanted to know if there was anymore room for a snail or shrimp. I'd love a few replies

First off, the WCMM need a bigger tank, as they swim really fast. They might nip the betta's fins as well.
You could put a some ghost shrimp with the betta (without the WCMM's), but depending on his personality, he might think of them as food.

And welcome to FP

why not upgrade to 5-10 gallon it will be better for the wcmm and you will like it too also withthe bigger tank, you can have some shrimp, but as stated already, the betta may eat them, so get the biggest ones you can, and try to get some pregonant ones, the betta will be more interactive with his enviroment, hunting down some of the tiny babys, some may actualy survive as well and then they can breed all over again

if ur 3 is like my ecplice 6 system, and the filter hangs over which causes a dark area in the tank, the betta will find that the most comfy area, only b/c of the filter. with most filters, bettas like to hide in areas where they can rest, and in the ecplice system, under the filter is the best place, so it often appears that the betta hates the light, but it really doesn't,

again you tank is stocked wrong, and a bigger tank is needed.

White Clouds are a lot like danios in the fact they are very fast swimmers (a larget tank is in order, too). They are peaceful, but a little aggravating to other fish, as are danios. Your betta might perfer something a little less exuberant to be his tank mate. The shrimp, however, would be fine.

Thanks - I moved the betta to a tank by himself, and he seems to be doing a little better - he's only about 5-6 months old. I have a 5 Gallon which I'll move him to once he's a tad older.
